Lorsqu'une chambre rencontre l'Art Contemporain cela donne "Chambre d'Artiste".

Démarche originale d'appropriation d'un lieu, rendue  possible par la passion de Monsieur Bernard Redolfi pour l'Art actuel.

L'hôtel Windsor s'enorgueillit déjà d'une dizaine de chambres et bien d'autres suivront.

La dernière en date est celle de Jean Mas, artiste "École de Nice"  qui exprime ici, en les déclinant ses célèbres "cages à mouches" et quelques ombres.

Plus qu'un lieu d'exposition ou de décoration, la chambre d'artiste est le volume intériorisé par excellence. Lieu de repli, de rêve, d'amour, la chambre comme peau pour l'art qui l'habite offre au résident, voyageur, la singularité du propos de l'artiste qui la "griffe".

Donner une tonalité ludique en mêlant des montages d'ombres avec des cages à mouches, deux facettes d'un travail qui trouve ici un esprit "chambré" à bonne température pour cet artiste de l 'École de Nice".

S'engager ainsi avec un artiste c'est s'assurer d'une respiration, c'est donner un plus à son activité, son entreprise. C'est dans un plaisir jubilatoire partager la mise en oeuvre d'une création, ici la "chambre".

About of the rooms of artists: inaugural speech of Jean Mas in September 2007

 

When a room encounters Contemporary Art this gives us a “room of artist”.

This original step of appropriation of a place was possible by the passion of Mr. Bernard Redolfi for current Art. 

For our pleasure, the Windsor Hotel has ten rooms and others will follow. The last in date is that of Jean Mas, artist of the "Ecole de Nice”, who expresses here, by variants,  its famous  “cage à mouche” and also exhibits some shadows.

More than a place of exposure or decoration, the room of artist is a volume interiorized.

Place of fold and retreat, of dream and loving, the room is as a skin for the art which offer to the traveler, the singularity of the matter of the artist who “scratches”.

By mixing the shadows with the cages, Jean Mas gives to this room a ludic tonality, offering us in a spirit "chambered" a room at the right temperature !
